Timetable for PU admissions
The pre-university department has announced the time table for the first PU admission for academic year 2009-10. The timetable is as follows: 1 Announcement of seats available, including reserved candidates for I PU and issuing of application forms — April 28 2 Last date for issuing application forms — May 9 3 Last date to submit the application form — May 12 4 Announcement of merit, reserved and category-wise — May 18 5 First list of shortlisted candidates — May 21 6 Last date for fee payment for first list candidates — May 25 7 Second list of shortlisted candidates — May 27 8 Last date for fee payment for second list candidates — May 30 9 Third list of shortlisted candidates — June 2 10 Last date for payment of fees for third list candidates — June 5 11 Announcement of cut-off percentage for the last round of admission — June 6 12 Date of commencement of classes — June 8
If seats are vacant even after the deadline, colleges are allowed to issue applications and fill such seats within the prescribed last date. Classes for II PUC starts from June 1. Students can’t change colleges unless their parents are transferred or retired.
If colleges comes under the same district (both present and transfer), then the respective deputy directors will give or deny permission for change. The application should reach the deputy director by June 10. If the change is inter-district, then applications should be submitted to the PU commissioner’s office, Bangalore. If colleges fall within 10-km radius, no transfers will be allowed.
From 2009-10, students can’t change the system of education from CBSC/ICSC to state for II PU, and they have to continue the same system. If they want to switch over, they will have to study I PU in the state system.
